Blackbird Tattoo and Gallery presents HOME, a photography exhibit by Stephanie Saujon.
Nashville photographer Stephanie May Saujon is best known for her glamour work with La Photographie Nashville, but the internationally published artist has taken a departure with her series of self portraits called HOME.
Saujon decided to turn the camera on herself in the place she is most comfortable – her house. Restricting her tools to one film camera and a 35mm lens, Saujon exclusively used black and white film to document herself for 3 months. The results, 24 unretouched black & white self portraits, will be on display.
Opening reception will be held on Sunday April 6, 2014 from 6-9pm.
“Saujon is known for making modern-day Glamour Shots like that — boudoir photographs of women looking amazing, posed perfectly and airbrushed in all the right places. But this show is not that. To call the exhibit she opens at Blackbird Tattoo and Studio a departure would be an understatement, but like a musician moving from Rihanna to Patti Smith, Saujon has the chops to cross genres with ease.” – Nashville Scene
