Sometimes I get really, really inspired. This shoot was one of those times. It all started with the decision that I absolutely had to photograph my pregnant friend Charlsie. Although I’ve only known her a short time, Charlsie strikes me as a wholly unique and quirky lady, and I wanted to capture some of that quirkiness, along with her adorable baby bump. I had a bag full of film that I’d been meaning to use for years, along with 2 film cameras, and a toy lomo camera. Also being a fan of film imagery, Charlsie was excited about the idea. I was inspired by a 1970s road trip swimming hole theme, so Charlsie pulled together the perfect ensemble, and then was brave enough to hike to Stillhouse Hollow Falls with me.
The first set of images were taken with film, the second half of the blog post features photos from my iPhone. My Diana Mini lomo camera is proving to be ridiculously unreliable; only one shot from that camera was usable.
